Mrs. Jamie will be celebrating 20 years teaching dance in the Gulf Coast community in 2018. Her earliest studio training began in Louisiana with Tommie Church, then in Foley, Alabama with Madeline Avinger and finally, at the prestigious Sheffield School of the Dance in Mobile where she competed and performed with the national award-winning Sheffield Performing Arts Company. She received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. In addition to owning and directing South Baldwin Dance Center, she has also collaborated on numerous community events including choreography for Annie, Jerry’s Girls, the Coastal Chorale, Shrek the Musical as well as directing dance at GCAA Fine Arts Camp and GSUMC Fine Arts Camp. Her choreography has won numerous platinums, top overalls and mentions including “Best Creative Concept” and “Best Emotional Performance” awards at competitions. Jamie continues to enrich her dance and teaching abilities taking classes and workshops with some of the greatest masters of our day including Mia Michaels, Stacey Tookey, Tyce Diorio, Talia Favia, Mike Minery, Anthony Morigerato, and Ivan Koumaev to name a few. Her energetic, motivational teaching style and her ingenuity in training younger students can also be attributed to her many years working in various children’s ministries throughout Louisiana and Alabama. Jamie is a certified member of the Louisiana Association of Dance Masters and the Dance Masters of America.  She is also the proud wife of Gulf Shores Firefighter Justin Parks, and mother of seven-year old Landen, four-year old Caden, and twenty-month old Tiffany Parks.
