She grew up dancing at Once Upon a Ballet and the Musical Theatre Center, both businesses owned by Allyson Lewis Popper, an NYU Tisch dance graduate and professional dancer. Eliza studied ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, acting, singing, while also putting on musicals multiple times a year until she graduated high school. In high school she was in dance honors and learned choreography skills and improv. She studied musical theatre and physical theatre in college as well as ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, and modern. Her junior year, she was blessed to be able to study abroad in Tuscany, Italy studying masked theatre (Commedia Dell’Arte) , devised theatre, and international movement and dance styles. Once graduated from college, she worked at the Musical Theatre Center as a director, choreographer, ballet/tap/jazz/musical theatre teacher to children ages 2-18. During her time there, she had the honor of directing and choreographing Winnie the Pooh kids, choreographing Moana, Jr, and stepping in as one of the choreographers for Mean Girls high school edition. Last year, Eliza lived in NYC with her husband, auditioning for professional musical theater, dance, and vocalists roles and taking classes at Broadway Dance Center, but it was put on pause when her husband was offered his dream job in Gulf Shores at The Hangout!  Eliza is so excited to be living here at the beach and teaching again.
